My name is Tom Henson. I learned the hard way how to operate under pressure - leading teams on military deployments in high‑threat, austere environments where judgement and calm decision‑making were essential. I made mistakes, learned from them, and now those experiences shape my approach.
Later in my career and as a military educator, I upskilled more than 2,000 military leaders to a Level 5 NQF‑accredited standard, helping them build the practical behaviours needed to perform under pressure. My professional grounding comes from a strong academic and leadership base: an MSc in Education Practice & Innovation, a Postgraduate Certificate in Education, a Level 7 Diploma in Leadership & Management, a BA (Hons) in Leadership & Management, and Chartered Manager (CMI) status.
In industry, I’ve designed and led a Security Champions initiative of 500+ colleagues, reshaped enterprise‑level culture programmes, and focused organisations on the human skills that determine performance under pressure. I’m also a Full Member of CIISec, where I designed the Human‑Focused Skills section of their Skills Framework - bringing behavioural science and practical leadership capability into the heart of professional cyber standards.
Across military, corporate, professional bodies, and now my solo advisory practice, my work centres on strengthening leadership clarity, human competence, and the ability to operate effectively when the stakes are high.
